Novo mesto has always been home to the dwarf Rudi, who knows all the secrets and stories of the old town, but always forgets where he hid his treasure. Join him on a walk through the city center
and he will take you to the sights of the city. He will also entertain you by telling amazing stories of inhabitants in his particularly funny way.
In Julia's footsteps
Julija Primic, Prešeren’s poetic muse, spent the last years of her life in Novo mesto. Franc Prešern was a 19th-century Romantic Slovene poet.

Novo mesto story
A walk through more than 650-year-old Novo mesto city center, is followed by embarquement to the Rudolf’s raft, on the river Krka. A humorous and entertaining story in the company of rafters and other members of animation crew,
will grab your complete attention. Afterwards you will stop at the Matjaž’s homestead, where you will hear stories about the origins of Cviček wine and Lojzek’s early youth.
Countryside delicacies
Today, it is all about traditional delicacies. We start the day with a light walk through the center of Novo mesto and we head to the countryside. Meet the local beekeeper and a pottery maker,
chat with a miller about this rare but still present activity. Spend some time with members of the Association of Rural Women and Girls and indulge in cured meats tastings.
Bela krajina
Enter Bela krajina and stop at the beautiful emerald, green source of the river Kolpa. Drive to Metlika and enjoy a glass of good local wine along with traditional Bela krajina flatbread.
Today you will learn a lot about Bela Krajina’s history, traditions, rituals, gastronomy, etc.
Slak's in Pavček's route
This day is perfect for admirers of traditional music from Dolenjska region. Enjoy the Slak’s evergreen melodies, visit his homestead. Lojze Slak was a Slovenian musician and Tone Pavček was one of the most
influential Slovene poets, translators, and essayist. Visit the house of Slak’s childhood and a museum of Lojze Slak and Tone Pavček in Mirna Peč. Also explore the Bee World interactive pavilion.
St. Martin's Day
When it smells like autumn and roasted chestnuts, it’s time to go to Dolenjska and Bela Krajina, to socialize with the locals, who respectfully preserve the tradition of their ancestors.
We enter the vineyard cottage to talk about young wine and taste Martin’s excellent delicacies or toast on Rudolf’s raft on the river Krka.

For associations
We design visits to Dolenjska region according to characteristics of associations. Fire brigades will visit the Slovenian Fire Brigade Museum in Metlika. The equestrian center with its activities is the perfect sight for Equestrian associations.
We also prepare fun and themed programs and workshops for pensioners’ associations.
School groups
Visiting Dolenjska and Bela krajina is not only informative but also fun and interactive. Together we get to know the history and sights and we solve various tasks.
We collect amber strawberries, talk about Dragotin Kette and Janez Trdina, who marked our cultural space with their lives and work in Novo mesto.
Pilgrimage routes
Pilgrimage routes through Dolenjska and Bela Krajina will us to many Romanesque churches, decorated with exceptional paintings and carvings, and lead us along the picturesque Križeva pot to the famous Gothic pilgrimage churches “Tri fare”.
We adapt the programs to the wishes of the group and can also include secular elements of cultural heritage.
For winemakers
Dolenjska, the land of sun and grapes, is a real paradise for our Story of Cviček. Get to know and taste why cviček is such a popular wine. Local wine producers in Bela krajina will be happy to open the door to their wine cellars.
You will also visit the Soseka Vineyard, which functions as a unique wine bank, registered as Slovenian living cultural heritage.
For beekeepers
The people of Dolenjska, like the rest of Slovenia, have deep respect towards bees. The initiative about the World Bee Day came from Slovenia. It is about raising awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping.
Beekeeping families, with a long tradition, will be happy to welcome you and share their knowledge and beekeeping history with you.
For hikers
Follow the footpaths of the picturesque and mythology filled Gorjanci. Enjoy a walk among the vineyards, relax in the shade of the vineyard cottages and visit one of the wine cellars.
Do not forget to enjoy a glass of invigorating Cviček. We enrich the programs for hikers with small surprises along the way, such as tastings of local products and excellent cuisine.
